The 8th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards ceremony, which held on Saturday night, honoured some of the finest talent African film, who included Uganda’s very own, Loukman Ali.
The event, often referred to as Africa’s most prestigious film award ceremony, was held at Eko Hotel and Suites, with media presenter Ik Osakioduwa and South African celebrity Bonang Matheba serving as hosts
Loukman Ali’s The Girl In The Yellow Jumper’ won the award of Best East African movie beating out the other contenders; Mariam Ndagire’s My Humans Wife, The Grand Little Lie, Just In Time, Ugonwa Wa Kifo, and Beautiful Ashes.
Loukman, who wasn’t in attendance was not able to receive his award but Mariam Ndagire, a nominee in the same category, who was present received it in his absence.
Other nominess who won big included Amina a Nigerian feature film plus Ramsey Noah’s, Rattle Snake the Ahanna story which won three accolades including best actor, actress and best director.
