Brian Luzinda, a videographer, and Ethel Mugabi met during her Form 6 vacation in 2009 at a photo studio in Kampala. 9 years later, on 9th October, 2018, the couple tied the knot before holding ‘a very intimate wedding reception of about 100 guests’ at Pearl of Africa Hotel in Nakasero.
Meeting
We met in 2009 at a photo studio at City Center Complex in Kampala. I was in my form six vacation, and had gotten a part time gig at the studio. At the time, he was already an employee there. It started as a very good friendship, which went on till 2016. In April that year, we began dating.
The proposal
He proposed to me on 28th December, 2017. He had paid me a visit at home. We had had a really good chat, laughing and all, then as I was about to serve him dinner, he went on one knee and asked for my hand in marriage. I didn’t hesitate saying yes.
Planning their wedding
We had a small intimate wedding of about 100 guests, so planning was really breezy. We got our list of providers together, had a few meetings with friends. We chose our black and white theme, which reflected in most of our outfits and decor.
We had a small challenge; the management of the hotel changed hands during our planning, which was a bit scary. We wondered if our package would stay the same, but it all worked out fine. Just like that, we had one of the prettiest small weddings ever.
My bridal party was organized by my matron Doreen Clark, it was one of a kind.
