It’s been a minute since Queen Bey graced us with a phenomenal fashion story but, leave it to Edward Enninful, British Vogue’s EIC to make it happen on the cusp of the release of new album, Renaissance. The iconic singer sent shockwaves through the ‘BeyHive’ on Thursday when she announced that her next album, called “Renaissance,” will be released on July 29.
In anticipation of the new album, Bey covers British Vogue’s July 2022 issue, sitting atop a horse in a dramatic black Harris Reed feathered headpiece and a velvet gown.
Editor-in-chief Edward Enninful described the inspiration for the photo shoot as “a fashion fantasia spun from the tropes of club life during the last century’s final quarter” including “mirror balls, light boxes, headdresses.”
He added that Beyoncé “wanted to play with fashion like never before.” And indeed she delivered. She was styled by Enninful in an array of phenomenal outfits from the likes of Schiaparelli, Harris Reed, Junya Watanabe, Alaia, and, naturally, IVY PARK. The story was photographed by Rafael Pavarotti.
As for the new material we’re about to hear, we better prepare ourselves. In the words of Enninful, “ it is music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul.”
In the pages of the magazine, the 40-year-old Grammy winner wears a gold sequin-covered sculptural coat by Schiaparelli Haute Couture paired with matching planetary earrings from the brand. She finishes the celestial look with choppy bangs and a golden lip color.
She also wears a silk corset, sequined leggings and silk train, all by Harris Reed, accessorized with a pink version of the designer’s feather headpiece and platform boots made in collaboration with Roker while sitting atop a large disco ball in another shot
