How they met?

Peter and I met through a Christian organization in Luweero district. I came as a volunteer and he was working with the Sports Ministry project. From the moment we met we instantly fell in love.

Our Engagement

We got engaged in September of 2019. I was returning to the US to finish my last stint of university. I originally intended to come back in March or early April of 2020 after graduating from my studies. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, and the Uganda’s borders were shut in March, I was forced to postpone. When the borders first closed, I could have never imagined that it wouldn’t be until October when the borders would finally open.

It was seven long months of waiting, however, the Lord grew and prepared both of us for marriage through that season of waiting. Once the borders were opened, I immediately quit my job and moved to Kampala. This was after continued postponements of our wedding. Finally, when the timing was right, we were given one date that the church had. That was 14’th November, 2020. We went with that date, which left us just over a month to plan our big day.

Planning our Wedding

Our planning process was a bit rushed, but due to social media and great friends (who all knew people) we quickly planned the wedding.  My three favorite vendors from the wedding were our photographer, Kanchuwithacamera (he takes candid in the moment photos that I admire each day), our cake, Gigi Loyal Cakes (it was the most moist and tasty cake I have ever tasted in the entire world), and lastly our reception vendor, Aangan Restaurant (tasty and flavourful Indian inspired dishes alongside your favorite Ugandan dishes).

These vendors made our special day even more special with the amazing job they accomplished.
