TPF6 ends in style as Hope wins

By  |

It has been the most exciting season ever and had to end in style with a win that was almost predictable. Honestly Hope deserved to win this competition. His voice and those dance moves had the ladies swooning. The public had to vote the most popular of them all.

The finale was not one to expect. The academy celebrated Mandela’s life with a performance that had has all of us on our toes. Then the duets that left the crowd in ululations. Davis Ntare and Ruth Matete made grand appearances on the stage to collaborate with the finalists.

I have to be honest, last night my attention was drifted away from the fashion and on to the show it self. The styling was at its best. Contestants embraced the beauty of life in bright coloured garb. Mitch did the all black look again! This look is not one to easily pull off but he did so just like he always does.

The best part of the show is when the finalists performed their first singles and snippets of the accompanying music videos were shown. This move is no doubt the best thing to ever happen to Tusker Project Fame. It’s sad that almost all former contestants on the show vanish sooner than we forget about the show. It’s always heartbreaking that while millions struggle to get on the show, the few that get the opportunity don’t use it to great advantage.

In an interview with Sunday Monitor in 2011, Naava Grey who by then was a struggling upcoming artiste noted that the show trains contestants to wow the crowd and make the TV show exciting. The academy however doesn’t fully prepare them for the real music industry. I don’t think TPF6 solved this fully but with a music video and a single out on sale, being a finalist has been worthwhile. They can ride on that.

The contents are also going to have a number of performances around Nairobi. This is also great for them as they prepare for life after TV. We hope to see more of them again.

All we can do now is to wish them the best and also countdown to season 7. The show has been  powered by Tusker Lager.
