The Miss Uganda UK™ Beauty Pageant is back for the 6th year

A bevy of intelligent beauties will battle it out for the title of Miss Uganda UK 2016 this December. The pageant focuses on encouraging young women to pave the way for financial freedom through Social Enterprise and working with various charities in the UK and Uganda. MCT World, e-Duuka, TGM Radio UK, Elevate Design Studio and TheTruth Sessions are this year’s official sponsors who are joined by partnered individuals such as JF Solutions and Club 701 in delivering this year’s grand finale.

Miss Uganda UK which runs under the theme ‘Promoting Beauty, Descent & Culture’, has been running for 6 consecutive years now under J.M Promotions and with a bigger audience each year it’s one of the most attended events in the Uganda calendar here in the UK. We are happy to be associated with various charity groups & organisations here in the UK and in Uganda where we have carried out various projects.

The pageant will see 9 beautiful ladies battle it out for the crown to be the next ambassador of the Ugandan community in the UK. The winner will not only be crowned but become the face and voice ambassador for the Child Sacrifice campaign Uganda with Jubilee Campaign UK an organisation we are working with 2nd time running. She will also win a two-week trip to Uganda to go carry on the started work of raising more awareness to stop child sacrifice ‘Ugandan’s United to End Child Sacrifice’. The Pageant will be multi-faced and will present a series of varied performances on the day for the audience including cultural dances from all over Uganda.

It is much more than just a beauty platform, with an emphasis being placed on contestants who demonstrate the ability, commitment to charitable causes and who portray a positive image of the modern Ugandan woman and the beauty of Uganda as a country. The 2016 finalists include: Vanessa Kaitesi, Lesley Tibihikira, Rebecca Amuge, Sandra Masozero, Noor Kalumba, Latisha Antoine, Hayaati Njuki, Bridget Katungi and Catherine Namuddu.

The prestigious pageant is a spectacular platform intended to raise the profile of talented Uganda women and attract tourism and investment into Uganda and the UK through the entertainment industry by encouraging Personal Development and Social Enterprise. The event will also be a platform for identifying & showcasing talented Ugandan & Africans living in the UK. It would offer an opportunity to experience something different and for people to create a unique mix on a social level.

This year’s pageant will take place on Saturday 3rd December 2016 at the Ark Globe Academy, Harper road, London SE1 6AG 6pm – 11pm, where one of our finalists will be crowned Miss Uganda UK Queen 2016/17 on a night of promoting Ugandan Beauty, Descent & Culture.
