In an industry which is only peaking up, modeling is not the easiest profession to take on. Major companies prefer celebrities to endorse their products leaving the models with no jobs. Fashion shows take place only once in a while and many designers prefer their friends to walk during these shows. Simply put – it’s not as glamorous as you might think.
While that is so, a couple of models are doing pretty well. They are booked for most of the few shows that take place and some are already becoming muses of the designers.
Here is the list of the 8 most revered models in the business.
1. Xeader Frederick
He is arguably the most popular male model in Kampala. He was also the winner of the Best model award at last year’s Fashion & Style awards. Besides getting booked by every designer, Xeader has been tapped by a number of major brands to front their campaigns. He has featured in ad campaigns for Rwenzori Water and Air Uganda among others. His chiseled physique has also landed him work with artistes Juliana Kanyomozi and Ekky.
After a break through with a spread in African Woman Magazine, Xeader steadily climbed through the model ranks to the top where he is now. With such an enviable portfolio, you would expect the Procurement and Supply Chain management graduate to slow down but he’s not about to.
2. Adam Riley Gashe
Adam is probably the most commercially successful of them all. He has bagged the most campaigns and still is a runway favorite.
