Meet JeraMusik, The New R’nb Music Star You’re About To Get Obsessed With

Ivan Jovans Mutoni who goes by the stage name Jeramusik is a new R’nb star about to rule the airwaves. His new album ‘Fancy Life’ with songs such as ‘Temperature’, ‘Gutuja’, ‘Eyes on me’ and more is a real gem. We had a chat with him about his music and the new album.

Why did you choose the name Jeramusik? Are you aware that there’s a female artist called Jera in the industry?

I know Jera. However, I’ve been Jeramusik since 2012 and have been building this brand since then under that name. Besides, we do totally different styles. Also, note that that name is Jeramusik.

I used to be in a group called ‘The new eras’ where the late Sera was before moving to Swangz. When the group disbanded we decided to keep ‘era’ in our stage names. Sarah became ‘Sera’ and Jovans became ‘Jera’. I added music to make ‘Jeramusik’. 
What interested you to do music?
Music to me is a talent. It’s something I do because I’m passionate about it. I’ve been in the industry for 13 years but this is my first year as a solo recording artist. This is my second album called Fancy Life.

Why Fancy Life? 

I do R’NB, urban and soul music.  When I was coming up with the songs, I thought using a title that resonates with my audience would be ideal. The album has lots of mature content as compared to my previous project. I believe ‘Fancy Life’ fits well with the 8 songs on the album.

What influences your artistry? 

Many people influence me as an artist. But, John Legend and Maurice Kirya stand out.
